My friend, Heidi (
hatbrat85) asked me if I'd make her a tutorial with no selective coloring, so here it is!
to
Made in PS CS3, but it should be translatable (no selective coloring)
Level: Intermediate: NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY.

lol.. I've been forgetting to post the tuts in my journal, as well as icon_tutorial, so I'm not going to number my tuts anymore..
I know y'all are probably getting bored with all the Carrie tutorials I make, but I promise-- As soon as I find other good photo galleries, I'll use different people ;)
Anyway, today we'll be going from this and this to this

My 3rd Tutorial!
Go from
to
OR
1.) Crop your image to 100x100. Sharpen it 1-2 times. (a darker image does best with this tutorial)
2.) Add a new layer and flood fill it with a blueish-purpleish tone. I used #4A0072. Set this layer to Lighten 100% Opacity.
It should look like:
3.) Add another layer and paste this gradient (made by me!) onto it. Make that layet Overalay, 100% Opacity. (And by the way, Katie (And, yes, Katie(from CarrieFans), I know you're reading this), In Paint.NET, the opacity would be 255... But this is for Photoshop, so the opacities are different)

It should now look something like this:
4.) Make a new layer and color it completely white. set it to Screen 20-30% Opacity (99 for Katie :) haha )
5.)Now duplicate the bottom layer and bring it to the top. Set it to Overlay 100% (Yes, Katie, that's 255%)
6.) Looks pretty cool, right? Well, we're not done yet! Flatten the image. Now duplicate the whole thing and pixelate it! Make the cell size 19 pixels... I'm not sure if this works in photoshop, but i know it does in Paint.NET.... if it doesn't work in photoshop, just make squares of some of the colors from the blend about 19x19 pixels each :)... Set this layer to Lighten 100% Opacity... or you can set it to Negotiation 75% Opacity (for Katie, it would be 176%) for a more colorful icon.
You're done! You can add text if you want... I didn't because there wasn't anything I wanted to put...

My 2nd Tut!
Go from
to
OR
1.) Make this a brush in whatever program you are using, or just paste it.

2.) Erase inside of the squares and circles on the filmstrip.
3.)Find 3 pictures that you want. Make them very small. Mine were about 110x75 or somewhere around in there...
4.) Paste the 1st image (shrunk down) on a new layer and move that layer below the filmstrip layer. Move it into one of the boxes. Then change it to Sepia, and raise the red value just a little bit. Erase the parts outside of the box you want the picture in. (I know that sounds confusing, but it's really simple!)
5.) Repeat step 4 for each of the 3 pictures
6.) If you want, you can add tape behind your filmstrip to add depth.
I used
which I downloaded from somewhere... I can't remember where, though...
You'll need to erase the whit that is behind the movie strip... Then make a new layer and make it white and BELOW the filmstrip... You then will do your tape brush.... This step is optional!
Comments are appreciated! I LOVE to see what you've made

This is my 1st ever tutorial, so comment if you see anything wrong or unclear! I love to see what you do, so post what you make with this tut! It was written for PhotoShop, but can be easily translated!
Go from
to
1.) Open a 100x100 image of whoever you want. This tutorial can be changed to several pics.
2.) Add a new layer and floodfill it with #FFDDAD or any nuetral color. Set that layer to Screen, and set the Opacity to a little over 55
3.) Now add this gradient made by me, and set it to Overlay 100% Opacity:

You should now have something similar to this:
4.) Duplicate the original picture. Bring it to the top. set it to Color Burn 75% Opacity
You get:

5.) Almost done! Duplicate the original picture again. Bring it to the top. Desaturate. Set it to Overlay 50% Opacity
You Get:

6.) Final Step! Add Text, if you want! I used the font "GF Ordner Normal." You can probably find it at 1001freefonts.com or dafont.com or any sites like those.
Here's my final product!

Please comment if you used it! Tell me what needs to be edited more and show me what you made!
